Conspiracy Theories

Well today is Kurt Cobains’s birthday. If he were alive today, he would be 45.

Instead, he’s remembered and I’ll bet that somewhere in the world, candlelit vigils are taking place in his honour.

Now, I have very strong feelings about Kurt Cobain, and his death, and so I thought I’d share some of them with you, along with other thoughts I have (which have been categorised as being “conspiracy theories”).

Kurt Donald Cobain. A musical and lyrical genius. An intellectual man. A troubled man.

I have studied this man for many years, ever since I was introduced to his music, way after his untimely death in 1994.

I was a teenager, just, and I was going through what I now affectionately term, my “Goth Phase” – note that I never actually called myself a “goth”, but others did. “Sweaty Goth” was a favourite phrase used for my friends and I during our school years! So I was listening to all kinds of music, very eclectic, as I still am, but my preference was shifting from Slipknot, Marylin Manson, System of a Down, Korn, Misfits,  to the more punky, grungy styles of NOFX, Rancid, Nirvana, Muse, Greenday, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. I was strangely drawn to Kurt Cobain and I am not ashamed to say that I had something of a crush on him. When I discovered that he had died some 8 or so years before, I was shattered. It was as if it had just happened right in front of me and I was distraught!

Needless to say, because of my slightly obsessive character, I immediately delved into his life story and began my research (some things never change!) and I looked into his death in great detail. I went out and bought numerous books, from varying authors, so as not to get a biased opinion, scoured the internet for documentaries and TV shows/movies and I went into a little Kurt Bubble. So much so, that I convinced myself that I was going to die on April 5th 2016 (when I, too, would be 27). Kids do some funny things sometimes!

So anyway, after looking into his death and examining his “suicide note” with an eagle eye, I simply could not accept that he had killed himself. Of course I have my ideas but I’m not going to put them on here for fear of being sued for slander. Let’s just say that I have never liked Courtney Love and I can never forgive her for what happened to Kurt. It would take me way too long to go into all the details and explain my way of thinking, and this isn’t really the aim of this post so we’ll leave it there.

My family have now taken to calling me a conspiracy theorist. They say that I love a good conspiracy and laugh at me when I claim that anything remotely strange in the world is down to either :
A) The Government;
B) The Mafia;
C) Aliens.

Again, I’m not going into the details, I’m simply providing a list of the “conspiracy theories” and ideas that I currently subscribe to or have an opinion on:

  • The death of Elvis Presley
  • The death of Marylin Monroe
  • 9/11
  • The “War on Terror”
  • Global Warming
  • The Titanic
  • The death of Diana, Princess of Wales
  • The death of Tupac Shakur
  • The death of Paul McCartney
  • Amelia Earhart
  • The Bermuda Triangle
  • The Moon landing
  • Aliens/Extra-Terrestrials/Life on other planets
  • The existance of effective HIV/AIDS/Cancer drugs
  • Incurable diseases and conditions in general
  • Obesity and BMI (and no, I’m not just fat!)
  • Addictions, Phobias, Hypnosis

There’s probably more, but I’ll add them as I remember them!

Peace out,

~R&R
